Alternative opportunities for work experience
Currently, the Cathcart Summer Internship Programme is limited to students of Botany and Environmental Science at Trinity College who fulfil the application criteria (hyperlink to ‘application details’) outlined; however, there are many alternative international opportunities for botany- and plant science-based work experience that you might like to consider. There are both paid and voluntary offerings for students at various stages in their academic career, whether undergraduate, final year or graduate students, and these include some online virtual placements. Even if you are not eligible at your present stage it may well be worthwhile keeping them in mind for the future.
Work experience related to your field of study, whether paid or voluntary, at home or further afield, can contribute greatly to your academic and professional development, as well as opening doors to further study or employment by adding value to your degree. It can also be a very enjoyable and rewarding part of your student career.

Please note, as we are still in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, regional and local travel restrictions are likely to apply, so please check websites carefully for guidelines.
Wishing you the best of luck in your search!
