Wollemia nobilis (Wollemi pine)

I am interested in making works that reveal residual marks of everyday life, the marks show some previous activity now absent. These found drawings are incidental and so often overlooked. In the presence of the various trees at the Trinity Botanic Gardens there is a feeling of being quietly observed, in this environment I noticed the pruning scar on the surface of a tree, its form strongly resembling an eye, quietly bearing witness. My response to the witness tree project resulted in this image printed and embossed onto paper, combined with an inked impression of weeds.
