Would you like to work outdoors in beautiful surroundings this summer?

We are now inviting applications to our Cathcart Schuler Internship in Conservation Horticulture at Trinity College Botanic Garden for Summer 2026!

We are offering two internships to current undergraduate students of Botany or Environmental Science in the Discipline of Botany at Trinity College. The internships will run concurrently for six weeks commencing on Tuesday 2nd June 2026. Each internship comes with a stipend of €2000.

This is an excellent opportunity for undergraduates to gain practical skills in conservation horticulture in a botanic and research garden environment. Working with the Curator, Outreach Officer and grounds staff, interns will receive on-the-job training in all horticultural practices employed to maintain the large living collections held in our glasshouses, walled garden, and arboreta. There will also be opportunities to be trained and participate in data-gathering for the Witness Tree Project, our long-term plant-atmosphere monitoring project. There will also be a requirement to assist in any outreach events taking place. Every opportunity to broaden plant cultivation and conservation knowledge will be encouraged, and there will be a requirement to document and share day-to-day activities and learning experiences in the form of a weekly diary, and blog/vlog posts on the garden’s website. The varied experiences of previous interns can be found in the past inter blogs:
